Get Real About Science

Science teachers, make plans to bring up to 25 of your college-bound sophomore and junior students to Ohio State for a day packed with hands-on experiences and real life applications of science, topped off with a leadership development experience, a glimpse of college life, and a preview of potential careers.

Approximately 100 students participate in each of Food Science's two Get Real sessions:

Conjugation of Plasmids – Conduct a natural gene transfer process used in the fermentation of food.

Tasting Science – Learn the difference between taste and smell, how the senses interact, and the role perception and illusion play in eating and food selection.

COST - You provide transportation and bring a packed lunch; beverages and dessert provided.

ALL SESSIONS ARE PROVIDED AT NO COST TO YOU!

The dates for 2006-07 are: November 7, 2006 and April 25, 2007. Click here to learn more and to register.
