Review:

Milk contains numerous peptide sequences which effect physiological functions and modulate many regulatory processes, including:

  •     hormone secretion (casomorphins)

  •     immune defense (casokinins, casomorphins, immunopeptides)

  •     nutrient uptake (phosphopeptides and casomorphins)

  •     neurological information transmission (casokinins)

This review provides an excellent coverage of our current knowledge of the bioactive peptides of milk and their potential role in the human body.
